I have been wanting to do a pheasant for a long time. Here it is.

This is without a doubt the best sandwich you will ever have. For every great sandwich, there is a great man behind that sandwich.  You can’t help but feel good when you enter Ernie’s Market and he yells out, “Who loves you baby?!” The fresh meats and condiments along with the house made “love spice” makes these sandwiched dynamite. Ernie won best sandwich for Channel 4’s “4 The Best” contest for best sandwich in Metro Detroit.  Ernie is a fan bird collector and you can see in the picture one of my fan birds cheering Ernie on just above his head to the left. In honor of the Rio games, here is my parrot. This birdy had a little surprise inside. Little worm holes in the feathers. I went ahead and finishing it anyway, and it worked out fine. I think they give the bird some character.

So, I always post the good things. Well, here is a bad thing…

As I was riving this piece of wood, there was a fracture along the grain and half of the blades were breaking off. I kept riving and fortunately the blades were sustaining some integrity. I continued on and came up with this…

A nice little crane. Sometimes the wood doesn’t cooperate, but I always try to salvage something out of it.

So, I made a set of lovebirds for my parents for their 54th anniversary. I rarely get to see my birds in their new homes. It is always a treat for me to see the birds flourish in a new environment.
