Oh the eyes. This was a challenge for me. Carving in the end grain of cedar is not fun. The black paint definitely saved me.

🎵Two turtle doves🎶 i actually tried to make these 2 look as much alike as possible. They are a pair upon request. The came from the same blank of cedar so they are a perfect match for eachother.

Another love bird in the books. You would think it only takes twice as long to make as a regular fanbird, on the contrary it takes about 4 times as long. Extra details in the heart and head area and trying to achieve equal feathers on each bird adds to the time.
